Fathom
8 November, 2000
Author: Kristen
A grasp towards full belly
and promises not sold
red licorice whips caressing
the child's
greedy tongue,
a sweet snaking and clasp
of clutching fists
as we twist and devour
when tired of the game.
canines slice; molars crush;
a sticky lump -no meaning-
swallowed in haste of final.
Play me image and expose me
full fleshed and
asking...skull begging for fathom
to hold in mind's eye
as photographic memory
hushes transformation;
I thought toxic fluid fix
enacted clarity miracles,
forms reunited
out of misty
dusked shadows and blurred intentions;
yet, the fumes just tear
membranes and cloud cold
interpretation-again.
An image fathomless of
snake charmer sugar
tie deftly serene wrists,
horizon suppine
palms unfold to seeing;
braided knots, intricacy absurd,
obscure all but minor,
softer red seams,
and the scream
emitted from inside
my someone else
I need to fathom.
------- Author's Notes -------
Like giving candy to a baby, grins Nemesis. |
