Behind A Mask
4 February, 2003
Author: KristyD.
Death is felt only in life,
the cold only missed in Hell.
Experience learned only in strife,
And I only missed you once you fell.
My heart only broken by love,
not by the pain, but the loss.
God never seemed to answer,
though my blood was shed on his cross.
A kiss of breath by flowing winds,
Alivens me once again.
I try to believe and not to deny,
but you just aren't a true friend.
Down to my knees, I have fallen,
never again to arise.
I raise a hand to take off my mask,
but to only find a disguise.
Felt cy crying angels,
felt by God's own pain.
I pray out to the heavens,
please lift me up again!
