Saved Star

I'm asking for forgiveness,
yes begging it of you.
I can't take this any longer,
This is something I must do.
I'm tired of bein sad,
and cryin all the time.
I'm really tired of actin,
like everything is fine.
I'm tired of my pain bein ignored,
when it's evident in my eyes.
I'm tired of living,
in a world that I despise.
I just want my friends to know,
that they are not to blame.
But if I go on much longer,
I'll slowly go insane.
Like I said before,
this is something I must do.
But the hardest part about Good-bye,
is saying it to you!
So go outside tonight,
and look up to the stars.
Know I made it up there,
and that I'm never far.
Please don't cry,
I'll tell you what I'll do.
I'll take the star next to mine,
and save it just for you.
So you can now be happy,
and in your life go far.
And you have my word,
noone will ever take your star.
Well I'll be going now,
I've got to see things through.
I hope someday you'll find a star,
like the one I found in you!

There were little things I would have done differently, but it's only a syllable thing (damn me and my obsessive compulsive nature). Overall, this one was so powerful, it has my first "POEM OF EXCELLENCE" award! In all seriousness though, to make me feel something is a very hard task. I am about as empty and hollow as can be. You truly hit a soft spot with this one, and to think I almost didn't read it due to length (I've done a lot of reading today). Good job. |
