Breath Of Life
22 September, 2003
Author: Laura M
To spend my whole damn life in one place
Would kill me.slowly.
Year after year,
I trace out my journey to
freedom.
No limits-just me.
I wanna jump out of the crowd.be eight feet tall!
Giant, like the Titans.
I wanna thread my hair with sunshine.
I wanna dream big like Dr. King.
Who doesn't desire
power?
'Round here they got nothin'.
They got everything for someone unlike little me.
They never sense a better view.
I hear the green on the other side callin' my name.
I'm caged-
Surrounded by thick glass walls.
Let me out of this jungle with no trees.
Even after the smoke clears, it ain't too late to take off the mask.
I wanna fly through the ocean.
I wanna face the storm and travel through a twister.
I wanna dodge the danger of myself.
When's it gonna be my time to take my
First breath of life?
