London's Pigeons
23 December, 1999
Author: Barbara Gibson
London is awake
Commuters crossing bridges
Railway stations crowded
Be careful of the pigeons.
City gents, umbrellas rolled
Big Ben chiming 9.
Taxis, buses everywhere
Be careful crossing every square
And especially, watch the pigeons.
Hyde Park, Pall Mall
Buck house, White hall
Oak trees, buildings tall
Flags flying overall.
You must avoid the pigeons.
Nelson on his column
Watches from on high
He's trying to warn the pigeons
We all like pigeon pie!
