I traced over words you wrote me in a letter
Traced over them with my fingertips
And rememered your touch
And the feel of your lips

I smiled at the memory
Not at the thought of you
There is a difference there
Though most don't believe that to be true

I smiled at the memory
Why would I smile at the thought of someone who brings me such disgust
I wouldn't
Though most consider reminiscing lust

I stare at blank words that once meant something
And I smiled at what they use to mean
Not at wishful thinking
Not at something people still think I want to be

You can smile at a lost meaning
Doesn't mean you want it back
Doesn't mean you miss it
Just means it's one more memory you've still got on track

I traced over your signature
And I smiled at your name
I smiled because you'er a memory
And because I'm no longer someone being played in your game
