Angel Prayer
21 November, 2001
Author: Lucinda Lee Tinsley
Now, I am getting ready to fall off to sleep, but before I do
I get down on my knees
I say thankyou, to my Father above, and I pray for guidence and the gift of love
I pull back the covers, I turn out the light, in hopes that my little angel will again visit me tonight
His whispers so soft, his words full of warmth,
With each night that falls, he does come
Bringing a song, that speaks to my heart,
And i know then, our life together will never part
Angel of the night, so very small, young, but oh so wise
What is it that you will pray
Will it be that we will be together again someday
Will you pray with me for peace here on earth,
And will you ask our father to remove all the fears and hurt
I have wished for the day, that I would hear our father say
That the wars of this world would soon end,
My dearest little Angel, you truely are my closest friend
Each night when you return, I listen to your prayers, in hopes that I too can learn
How to open up the gates to my heart, how to stop the pain,
That since you have gone dwells in my heart
But such is life, we all take the knocks, we all struggle, sometimes we even fall
But if we have faith such as I We learn how to grow, how to survive
So lights out little Angel, thanks for comming again here,
And thank you dear Father for the little Angel Prayer.
