What I Feel
13 December, 2002
Author: Marci
My mind wanders constantly
Wishful thinking of how I want life to be
Daydreams I wish people could see
They don't know what it's like to be me...
to never succeed
Everything seems so great
Even my life that someone else somehow dictates
maybe it is my fate
to get love disguised as hate
The hurtful words corrupt my mind
what I hear is never kind
And I look deep inside to find
that my heart is completely blind
..and I am left behind
So I pretend to be okay
and I cry as I begin to pray
There isn't much to say.....
besides, how did I end up this way?
Its constant everyday
God, please take the pain away
I fear that it has been to long
for me to somehow become strong
And I know to live in fear is wrong
that fear of thinking you don't belong
I envy those who are emotionally free
those who do succeed, but
they don't know what it's like to be me
...They cannot see

Karen (205.188.116.200) -- Monday, May 24 2004, 10:00 pm "What I feel" is the best poem I have ever read. I was reminded of what's real in life. The beauty and the sadness. I feel that someone completely understands and feels what I feel. The poetry was completely amazing. I was awed by what I read. I have read a lot of poetry, nothing compares to the emotion in this poem. Please, don't ever change this poem. I love it. I'm very impressed with your work and will continue to read all the available poems by Marci. Thank you for the gift you have given us all by sharing this poem. Thank you! |
