Destination Hell

Heaven is the place where souls go to be with God.
But none will enter there while wearing a façade.

If at no time you desired God’s love or salvation,
And never once acknowledged being His creation,

Why would you think you’d go to Heaven anyway,
Regardless of your path and the choice to disobey?

A spiritual and moral life is what’s expected.
You can’t be with God if in life He was rejected.

If you were loving, altruistic and giving,
And you prepared for his kingdom while you were living,

If desire to be with God was your motivation,
Then Heaven will surely be your destination.

Hell is the place where souls go to find separation,
Those who never wanted, nor asked for God’s salvation.

Selfishness, greed and flagrant immorality,
Are the cornerstones of Perdition’s mentality.

If you live your life denying God’s existence,
And you seek neither forgiveness nor repentance,

Why would you expect the God whom you never knew,
To forgive you anyway, just because you’re you?

Would you plant a weed within your flower garden?
Or share your home with every criminal you’d pardon?

If within the darkness, in life you choose to dwell,
Then you’ve bought a one way ticket, destination Hell.

That's a scary thought.

I guess I'm guilty of thinking that God would let me go to heaven no matter what. But you're right, if you live like you're in hell, you'll probably go.

actually..

I'm an atheist so it's apparant I don't believe in Heaven or Hell. I read your poem and could easily understand where you were coming from, but I was more under the understanding that if you live well, try to help others, and aren't a bad person, God wouldn't care if you bent over backwards shouting his name or prayed until your knees bled.

If he exists, I seriously doubt he'd have such a sense of pride to deny those that have never seen light in their lives eternal happiness (if indeed it exists).

But if indeed God exists, and he chooses to send me to Hell simply because I don't believe in him, then I would welcome it. I'd rather burn in Hell than grovel to anyone or anything when I know I lived a more caring life than most Christians I've met. The mere thought they'd get to enter Heaven simply because they're "Christians" gets under my skin, and shows there would be no real consideration of ones actions.

Out of all the Christians I've known, I've seen a total of three stop to someone on the street and see if they could help. I've seen homeless waiting outside of churches hoping beyond hope for a dollar, a box of fries, whatever, then I see everyone just walk right past them. Not one person stopped to help. How do I know? I was one of them.

When I didn't know where else to go during the first night I was "removed" from my house, I went to the preacher's house. Know what he did? He closed the door on me.

Are these the people that are deserving of God's grace?

If what you say is true, then the overused claim of, "His love knows no bounds" is quite the empty statement. If he exists, I hope you're wrong.

I'm not trying to disuade anyone about anything, or say your poem is false, I'm only providing my two cents. Not trying to start a lot of negative bullshit here.

I understand your point Seizure.

I understand your point Seizure. I was once an atheist. I had to have a near death experience to change that. To make me understand that God is Heaven. I always believed our reality was all there was, that there was nothing beyond it. I simply thought that there just happened to be matter floating around in a void of nothingness, and one fine day it went BOOM. I believed that billions of years later, we grew out or the primordial soup, as did all life on this planet. Science was my god. And I worshiped her. However she could not explain certain anomalies that I began to notice. There are two types of amino acids from which life is formed. The left handed and the right handed varieties. Life can form from either kind, however, all life on this planet are of the left handed variety. I began to realize that science couldn’t answer some of the more interesting questions. My NDE showed me that our reality is nothing more than a tiny speck sitting directly between two indescribable forces of nature. On one side there is incredible energy in it purest form, which appears as light, the like I have never seen before. On the other side is a realm of nothingness, which appears as a black void, bereft of light or life. The void appeared to be some kind of cancer, like the nothingness of true death.

I do not know our roll in this battle between the two forces, but we appear to have one. Those of us who live in the darkness will be claimed by it. Almost like a casualty of war. Since we all succumb to temptation, and all live in the darkness to one degree or another, we would easily be convinced that we cannot return to the light. We needed a reason to believe that, in spite of the stain of darkness, we could still be washed clean and return to the light. Jesus provided that hope. Now about God, not that I can explain his true nature. The light is God. Sentient energy. You are sentient energy as well. I know, our bodies appear to be matter, but matter is simply energy slowed at the molecular level to give the appearance of matter. You are also nothing. Molecules are primarily empty space, which move at such rapid rates as to give the illusion of solid matter. We are the product of both forces. Science when combined with spiritual philosophy answered my questions. I don’t write from behind the fence of religious denomination. Although I do believe in Jesus. The reason for that is in the actions of His disciples. After Jesus was captured, His disciples went into hiding, afraid that they would be next. After Jesus was crucified, Peter returned to Galilee. I don’t know about you, but after seeing the leader of your cult executed and hearing that you’ll be next if they catch you preaching again, I would be inclined to walk away. Unless something happened to give me faith that He was what He said He was. All but one of His twelve disciples was executed. As was Paul. Why die for someone who was proven to be false? If the cross was the end of Jesus, it would also have been the end of Christianity. The evidence leans toward the authenticity of Christ. I did not just jump into this pool without testing the water Seizure, I climbed in slowly.

By the way, those false Christians (wolves in sheep’s clothing) have a lot of darkness staining their fleece. Attending church is not living in the light and doing God’s work. This is a battleground. Trying to save yourself isn’t going to win the day. That’s why I write. Because YOU are more important, to me, than just saving myself. If I can help even one person survive the battle, then I’ve done my job. Christians are not God’s representatives on earth. Individuals who can rise above the darkness, and show others how to do the same are.
