Ships That Pass In The Night
10 November, 2003
Author: Mark Spencer
A quiet night,
I walk alone upon a lonely beach.
I see you sitting in the sand,
And search for words just out of reach.
You take my hand,
We walk together long an empty pier.
Neither knowing where it leads,
So full of hope, so full of fear.
Are we ships that pass in the night,
Or stars that shine forever?
Will this dream survive the morning light?
Or are we ships...that pass in the night?
A rendezvous,
We meet again outside a small café.
I make a wish upon the moon.
Will you please send some love our way?
Here in your arms,
I feel the passion in your embrace.
I turn my eyes toward the sky,
And pray we'll never leave this place.
Are we ships that pass in the night,
Or stars that shine forever?
Will this dream survive the morning light?
Or are we ships...that pass in the night?
