The Shadow Of Death
11 August, 2003

My time is nearly over,
Death is drawing near.
The endless sleep is coming,
So why then do I fear?

I'm not afraid of ending,
I am ready to go.
But something doesn't feel right,
And why, I just don't know.

I saw the shadows moving,
Though maybe it's just me.
But I can't shake this feeling,
There's something I can't see.

Could it be that I've been wrong
About Heaven and Hell?
Is something in the room with me?
What is that sulfur smell?!

No! This can't be happening!
Demons cannot exist!
But the room is growing darker,
And the smell, it does persist.

Death is moments away now,
My body's letting go.
I see shadowy figures,
With eyes all aglow!

They're standing all around me,
Waiting for me to die!!!
Oh God! Oh God, I'm sorry!
Why won't you reply?

My heart has ceased its beating,
they're reaching for me now!
god, you can't forsake me!
this you can't allow!

i'm sorry for not believing!
how could i have known?!
please give me another chance!
don't leave me here alone!

they're tearing at my soul now!
i can't stand the strain!
they are dragging me under!
my god! my god! ...the painnnn

This poem is scary (not in a bad way). It makes me scared bc I don't have that strong of faith even tho I should.
