In The Distance
8 June, 2003
Author: Mark Spencer
I was heading for disaster,
Accelerating ever faster.
In the distance I could see
Destruction waiting there for me.
Yet I really didn't care,
What fate was waiting for me there.
You see, I could hardly wait,
To leave behind this world I hate.
Then in the distance I heard
The whisper of three simple words.
They were faint but they were clear,
And they did well to ease my fear.
They've been heard now and again,
To remind me as they did then.
That I'm really not alone,
As I brave the great unknown.
In the distance three words ring true,
Spoken from Heaven; "God loves you".
