Once Upon A Lifetime
23 March, 2003
Author: Mark Spencer
Once upon a lifetime,
A long, long time ago.
When I was still a young man,
Happiness, I did know.
It quenched the fires of longing
That burned within my soul.
For true love came into my life,
And It's power made me whole.
And there I stayed for many years,
Complete within my heart.
'Til Heaven's gates were opened,
And my love she did depart.
But you were there to see me through,
Dear God, you were all so kind.
If I searched for a lifetime
No greater friends would I find.
I've traveled down some bumpy roads,
From then unto this day.
Roads I didn't walk alone,
For you were with me all the way.
And now my road has led me here,
To a place I've been before.
I thank you now with all my heart,
I've found happiness once more.
