The Second Time Around
23 March, 2003
Author: Mark Spencer
Here in the twilight of my years,
I am blessed a second time,
With love that serves to ease my tears.
It’s beauty so sublime.
I shan't forget what came before,
For that defined my life.
These memories do I adore,
When I was my first love's wife.
But his wish, it would never be,
That I remain alone.
To face the time now left to me,
Forlorn and on my own.
And so I pledge my love again,
Until death do us part.
To one who's been my faithful friend,
For he has earned my heart.
Love is a rare and precious thing,
As many can attest.
A gift for which the Angels sing,
That twice I've now been blessed.

May God bless them for the rest of their days. And I thank God for the blessing of having known them. They are both wonderful people. |
