Legends Never Die
15 March, 2003
Author: Mark Spencer
It Was A Long Time Ago,
Back When The West Was Young.
Cowboys Rode A Wild Wind
Into The Setting Sun.
Some Of Them Were Heroes,
Some Of Them Were Thieves,
And The Stories Of Their Fame
Were Greater Than Their Deeds.
They Could Draw Like Lightning.
They Practiced At Their Skill.
They Had Notches On Their Guns
For Every Man They Killed.
Some Died In A Showdown,
Some Of Them Hung High.
But Their Myths Will Live Forever
'Cause Legends Never Die.
Wyatt Earp And Jesse James,
We Say Their Names With Pride.
The Heroes And The Outlaws,
Their Deeds Were Glorified.
Some Of Them Were Killers,
Some Enforced The Law.
Most Of Them Depended
On The Quickness Of Their Draw.
They Lived The Lives Of Drifters,
And Roamed From Town To Town.
While Someone Always Waited
To Gun The Cowboys Down.
People Called It Justice,
An Eye For An Eye.
But The Myths Will Live Forever,
'Cause Legends Never Die.

Justus Isaiah Richardson (205.188.209.12) -- Thursday, April 24 2003, 11:22 am Not many poets ever become legends. Most, like me and 99% of the poets on this site probably won't. You, however, you could have a chance Rev. Your spiritual messages are profound and insightful. Don't give up! You could be somebody one day. Justus |
