Martin
16 February, 2003
Author: Mark Spencer
Martin sits alone, as he’s done for far too long.
Apart from a world where his way does not belong.
He cries out in his soul, his words echo his distress.
So how could such a man, then be so truly blessed?
Martin is a poet, a weaver of the verse.
It is from the spirit, that his kind can converse.
Some will understand him, and some will turn away.
Few will hear the blessings of what he has to say.
For he has wrestled demons and overcome despair.
He’s raged against the world, when no one seemed to care.
Life has been his teacher, It’s lessons hard and stern.
And he, a lonely student who had the heart to learn.
So give heed to his wisdom, if ye have the will to know it.
And see through Martin’s eyes, through the eyes of a poet
