Jesus
16 January, 2003
Author: Mark Spencer
He was born in a poor little town,
Beneath a glowing star.
People came from all around,
From near and from afar.
They came to see the holy child,
And treasures they did bring.
For in that manger lay the one
Who was to be their king.
As the child grew the people knew
That among them walked a king.
For when the dove came down to him
The voice of god did ring.
This is my begotten son
In whom I am well pleased.
Hear ye him, obey his words
And ye shall abide with me.
Word of his miracles reached Rome,
How he raised the dead.
How from the gift of two small fish,
Five thousand mouths were fed.
He turned the water into wine;
He calmed the raging sea,
He cast out demons from mortal souls
And set their captives free.
But Judas, blinded by silver's gleam,
Betrayed him without a breath.
He delivered upon the Nazarene
The fatal kiss of death.
But Jesus said "my time has come
Now to the world I'll show,
How much I love each one of you,
So I will freely go".
They tortured him and called him fraud,
He suffered ridicule and scorn.
They hailed him Jesus, king of Jews
And gave him a crown of thorns.
They demanded he be crucified,
Said his words were blasphemy.
So to kill a man who'd done no wrong,
A murderer went free.
The skies grew dark; the earth did shake,
On the day he died.
Saints were raised, and temples fell,
And Mother Mary cried.
But Jesus rose when three suns fell,
Nevermore to part.
For he now dwells among us all,
Forever in our hearts.

Lori Ann Day (198.81.26.134) -- Saturday, February 22 2003, 01:01 am Jesus turned water into wine, and He turned the stones in my life into roses without thorns. Intuitive poem! It's like you were there, and I'm sure you were. Like a director, I'm sure that God allowed you to view the scenes that you were meant to see with His big eye. God bless you for sharing your experience, and may His angels watch over you. |

Kellie Carlson (205.188.208.167) -- Thursday, May 15 2003, 12:19 am The poem "Jesus" was just wonderful. It tells all about Jesus and his life. It shows all he went through, and everything that shaped his character. The writer of this poem is very talented and portrays Jesus in a very clear way. Anyone who reads this poem can see the suffering Jesus had to go through just for us, and he did it for us. Jesus was the kindest individual that ever lived and had so much love for us, and this poem shows that love he had for us! He went through so much pain and suffering to save us! Kellie |
