The Unicorn
16 January, 2003
Author: Mark Spencer
In A Virgin Forest,
Where No Man Has Been.
Dwells A Creature Of Innocence,
No Human Eye Has Seen.
She Has Been Among Us
Since The World Was Born.
For She Is Immortal,
She Is The Unicorn.
Her Beauty Is Angelic,
Of Legendary Grace.
She Defends The Broken Hearted,
The Fool She Does Embrace.
You'll Bathe In Her Radiance,
And You Will Be Reborn.
In A Place Of Magic,
Where Dwells The Unicorn

Many of us are or have been the broken hearted. And many of us have played the fool or been made the fool. How many of you have been reborn within the radiant embrace of the spirit of poetry? I'm not afraid to admit that I was. How about you? Mark |
Lori Ann Day (198.81.26.174) -- Sunday, February 23 2003, 09:49 pm For me, poetry embraces the essence of life, and has always been my best medium for communicating thought to others upon the canvass of their minds. My pen can say what my physical tongue only stutters on. As my words embrace others, the poetry of love embraces me. Poetry is life giving, and filled with honest emotion that is very therapeutic. I either see the sense or the nonsense of my thoughts. |
Mark Spencer (205.188.209.69) -- Friday, February 28 2003, 12:09 am Well said Lori. For me poetry also embraced the essence of life. Love and hate, light and darkness. I saw it more as a light amidst my own darkness. I had but to enter that light and be embraced by it's warmth, and I became part of creation. I created poems and songs and did many other good works there. THE UNICORN was an attempt at giving the essence of life, that spirit of poetry a face. Mark |
