The Madman

He Sees Into Their Hearts
And He Finds Nothing But Pain.
He Looks Into Their Souls
But His Search Has Been In Vain.

He Tries To Understand
Why Nobody Seems To Care,
Why Dreams Just Slip Away
But The Answer Isn't There.

They Call Him The Mad Man
No Place For Him Remains.
Once He Tried To Live Like Them
But That Drove Him Insane.

Now He Only Watches
As The People Pass Him By.
The Emptiness Consumes Them
And He Has To Wonder Why.

He Can Feel Their Anguish
And It Makes Him Feel Sad.
And I Can't Help But Wonder,
Is It Him Who's Truly Mad?

I know that Jesus and John the Baptist were there.

Was Jesus Mad?

Many of those who opposed Jesus teachings made such claims. They said the same of John The Baptist. They were however, wrong. I must say though, if there were a man running around the wilderness, eating bugs and preaching the gospel while dressed in goat hair today, he'd be institutionalized. This fellow of whom I've written would not be much different from John without the bugs and goat hair of course. He wanted to help others but never realized, people have to want to be helped. He finally gave up and became just an observer. He died frustrated and alone. His life wasn't for naught though. Many who later read his poetry were forever changed by it. I know I was.
