Thorns Of A Rose

Life is such a blessing, yet it has, its thorns
There are times, when shadows will appear
This is not, a sign of doom, only rain, for our rose
To grab at life, and think we own it, is to grab upon the thorn
I have lost my heart, then see, a star, streak across the sky
I hear the laughter of my love, as it, passes by
My faith is stronger than the pain, of the rose’s thorn
The beauty of my life, is reborn, before my, very eyes!
The beauty of a rose, protected by it’s thorns
This is a message…, beauty is not property
Love, like beauty is a gift, a blessing, we must earn
For the rose to grow, like our soul, its protected, by its thorns
The rose does not wilt or die, then fall from the vine
Though we think it has, for that is what we see…,
Just what the thorn, has sent, to our mind
“It is the soul, that clearly sees, no rose, fell from its vine”
There is a price for the beauty and love in our lives
Not meant to cause us pain, just meant to remind
The soul, is as a rose, and the thorns leave it up to us
To feel the pain or the blessing, of this precious rain
