Every night, when I try to sleep
I tell myself, lots of lies
About me and you…,
Hoping things, will work out

Then I’m up, with the morning sun
Once again, I’m on the run
I don’t run far, from your heart
Just another day, to get through

I’ve called you twice, with no response
Think its time, I get over you
Then the sun, starts going down
Another night, with me, lying about you

Think its time, I face the truth,
Nothings going to happen
Between me and you
Need to get some sleep, can’t think of you

Here I go, I’m lying again, close my eyes
But, all I see, is you and me
Together again, I can’t stand this pain
Another night, just a fool, in love with you

Then I wake up, and I smell the coffee
And breakfast is ready, its on the table
There you are, in your night gown
Honey, got a tell you, about a dream, please sit down

Wait a minute, little Toby’s waking up
I’ll be right back, then we can sit down
You can tell me, all about your dream
Oh, here’s your coffee, and this, is fresh cream

I guess sometimes, when we love someone
As much as I love her, we remind ourselves
In strange ways, how lucky we are
Good morning, Toby, Mom says, your going to the park

Thank you lord, for just…, another day!

Wake up call........
I enjoyed your "wake up call", Martin. Another poetic mini-movie with a happy ending. It had me worried there at the beginning, but there was the coffee with fresh cream and "Toby" headed for the park at the end! Thanks, Martin!

deep sleep dream..
Martin ,i really enjoyed this.......yea it is an awful feeling when one is in a deep slumber and dreams take one to an unknown realm a world where ones love ones do not exist anymore..then your glad that your puppy wakes you up and you hug your puppy and your loved one so tight......thanx for sharing.
