When Was The Last Time

How long has it been,
Since you had a perch on your hook
How long has it been
Since a guy sat beside you
With the lost and dazed look
Tell me, now, tell me
How long, has it been?

When was the last time
You swam in the nude
When was the last time
You watched Cartoons
When was the last time
Tell me, now, tell me
How long, has it been?

When was the last time
You got drunk and threw up
When was the last time
You rode in the back,
Of a friend’s pick-up truck
Tell me, oh, tell me
How long, has it been?

When was the last time
You wrote a love note in class
Then, tried to pass it to your friend
But, it ended up in the teacher’s hand
How long, has it been?

When was the last time
You failed to show up
Told your boss, just, stick it up!
When was the last time
That you measured up
& remembered the fun,
You had growing up!

When was the last time…?

Martin, I was trying to remember.......

Martin, I was trying to remember the last time I got drunk, but I must've been TOO drunk because I DON'T remember! Ha! Ha! Haaa! This one made me smile in a few places because there are some things I do remember. That last verse is one I remember doing MANY times! Ha! Ha! Haaa! You laid it out quite poetically! Thanks! ***Ben

Thanks Pam, I don't think we forget...,

Pam,

I don't think we forget, all of the good times of growing, the problem is that we do, and forget, adults, can go back to that land of dreams, if, we want to.

Thanks Pam

1982!

That was the last time I got drunk! I prayed to God with my head down a toilet. "I will never touch another drop, and be stuck with the bill of over a $100, by people I didn't know, one by one they leave, too drunk to notice. Set me up with Mai-tai's." On my knees praying! I promise! I promise! Now It's 2003! Not a drop! The champagne from my wedding, is still full, on the dresser by our picture. A wonderful poem Martin. Thanks for sharing and bringing those memories back.-Dino....I tolded you!

Too Long it's been

Reading your verse,
I see all this was long ago,
Does this mean I grew old !!
no one told me

thanks for the reminder life is still fun.
