A Modern Day Spartan’s Love
14 September, 2003
Author: ShyHeart
I have never shook your hand, I have never held you in my arms
My heart tells me, from the words that I write for You
I would never survive what I feel If, I ever did meet…, you
Nothing more than honesty, have you ever shared with me
Two thousand miles away, I send my poetry, and its just me
Using words, like a surgeons’ steel blade, I open up my heart to you
The pain I feel is not from the cut, but from the way I feel, yet,
I have never met you, physically, it is your love, that cuts me deep
No, I’m not a lonely soul, going from door to door, searching
For that something, that will give my heart life, I’m just
Searching, for one, who will read my words and understand…,
What I feel inside of me, I hope you understand…,
I seek no virgins blood, spiled at my bequest
I am but a soldier, one of the Spartacus, elite
I know my fate is sealed and I accept my final day
Its just my flesh, they lay to rest, on Via Appia
It ‘s not my soul they lay to rest, not my love for you
I die in honor, fighting Romans, a slave I’ll never be
As they walk upon the road-way, and see our bodies rot
There is no pleasure in their view, for love and soul
Both set free, my love and soul
I send both home, back to you
I will never be a slave, no roman can ever conquer me,
I die, yet, share, my love and soul, with you.
