The Writing Upon The Midnight Moon
3 March, 2003
Author: ShyHeart
Stars, write their stories, words, upon the mid-night moon
For they would have no meaning,
if, you were to view them, say, at noon.
My words are stars that have decided to reside
Upon the mid-night moon. Each one has a heart,
And each a story, they want to share with you.
One star says, to young hearts below,
Go for love, not passion,
For passion gives you no more than pleasure,
Unlike, looking up at the moon
And wishing, you had read my words.
Another star says to you, I forgave passion
And for the sacrifice, borne only of body heat,
I found you…, then…, oh, then, such lasting passion!
Another star residing upon the moon says,
He is old and feeble, he can hardly see,
Just like me, but we both remember earlier times,
When our hearts were young.
Yet, we both said love, before passion
We found them both, with each other,
yes, we are both, very, very old,
Can hardly see, but still
we share love and yes, we enjoy the passion!
Can you see, the writing upon the moon?
Another star says, I had a very good friend
who listened to me, but preferred passion,
As love would come later.
There are many stars residing upon the moon
And as stars, we share our hearts with you.
We hope you will not become like some of our friends,
Who are not stars, but craters, looking down at you
With empty hearts, from a bright, mid-night moon.
Can You See, The Writing Upon The Mid-Night Moon?

Red Dragon (210.14.4.51) -- Monday, April 7 2003, 06:43 am can i just be the sky wherin i could cradle both moon and stars?...hehehe....this is a work is a refelection of both life's generation, both old and young, where the old stands as the star of greater light-wisdom-guiding the minute ones. i like the representation you have woven out of stars and the moon... the final line suggests pondering about one's own self...when and where will these stars reveal the words is one's own personal struggle...as always martin, the style is amusing....neat bro! |

I had noticed lately, that there was a "moon Phase" going on, lot's of poems relative to the Moon. So, I decided to join this "Mooning Phase" and un-buckle, and DROP my pen and join in, thus, this poem, for all my friends. Thank you all, MartinV |
Red Dragon (210.14.4.46) -- Tuesday, April 8 2003, 09:55 am Yeah, the moon word, spreading like SARS, hehehe.... Well, the moon is such a mystery and looking at it ignites the poet in each of us to write. Hey guys, I cant be in touch with you for a while...But i would appreciate it if you correspond thru my email add:(snip - security ask dreamer)...Sure thing I will miss you all. |
CrYsTal (206.214.68.65) -- Tuesday, April 8 2003, 10:57 pm WOW, Martin! I can't believe how muc I love this poem, my favorite thing in the whole wide world is the moon. I can't believe how incredible you put these words together, and how beautiful they ended up to be. Hope you write plenty more, Martin, if you have the time, write some more about the moon, it seems as if I'm the only one who really likes it. Thanks, Martin! Loved your poem! |
Martin Vann (65.56.174.155) -- Tuesday, April 8 2003, 11:38 pm CrYsTaL, What is it, that attracts you to the moon? Are you a heart, that sits and gazes upon its many faces, or do you just feel the moon's softness, its light, and does it bring magic, into your heart? What is it, that attracts you, to heaven's light, at mid-night, sorry, it's really, heaven, smiling back at you, we just call it, the moon. Sure, I'd be happy, to write for you, although, like others, I write for myself, and if, you do not mind, may I write, as if you were part of me? That way, I can go high enough, to touch the moon, and I hope bring back some of its light, for you, to put in a locket, that you can wear and look upon its glow, when ever you feel alone. If I can feel, you sitting next to me, both of us looking up, yes, I can write to the moon, and share its replies with you. CrYsTaL, never ask a poet for anything that you do not want, for poets will deliver, beyond your most imaginative, moon-light, dreams, that is what, poets do. MartinV |
Crystal (206.214.69.53) -- Sunday, April 13 2003, 11:36 pm Thanks alot Martin, you really touched my heart, I'm glad you appreciated my reply, no really takes the time to see what I have to complement about them. And yes, I'd love to share moment of the moon with you. Here's a hint, everytime there's a full moon, I am definitely there gazing upon it's moonful grace. So whenever you see a full moon or at least a three quarter, we can share our poetry gifts together...under the everlasting moon. Thanks again, Martin. |
CrYsTaL (206.214.69.53) -- Monday, April 14 2003, 12:33 am you asked me what fires me up about the moon. Well,it's kinda hard to explain, it's like a sense of safety, you know, like when you're sleeping beneath the linen sheets, and you notice this beautiful moon that just takes your breath away...and then, you fall asleep, knowing that the moon will be watching you from within the midnight stars. All of that just comforts me so much, even since my family is always around me, but I still look to it for comfort in the night. Hope you understand what I'm saying, hope you never give up your love for writing...it's a gift only given to every so many of us, and I'd never give it up for anything in this world. |
