A Warning To My Words
7 February, 2003
Author: ShyHeart
There’s more to her than meets the eye
Other men are satisfied, just by what they see
Yet, her beauty, is not in her face, but deep
beneath her skin. Her smile is but a door,
and her beauty lies within.
I send my words to her, and they tremble as they go
afraid they’ll not be heard, and request,
I return them to their source,
But, no I say, continue on your course.
If, some of you can reach her, and flutter in her heart,
the rest of you may fall away. Its important that she hear,
what I have to say. You are my words, all I have,
I see no other way.
If, you get me through the door, my heart will do the rest
so, do your best, be honest and be true. Softly, tell her how I feel
and if she will receive you, please hurry back with her reply.
"I warn you words", if you betray my trust,
and make her cry, you will return to a broken heart
and there alone, live forever, as a lie.

MartinV (63.208.45.107) -- Wednesday, March 19 2003, 03:33 pm Barb, We all see some very, very, good poems on this site and some truly have an effect on us. We try and ease some of the pain and "all" we have in our little first aid kit, are words. I'm learning to be careful, how my kit is used. Thanks Barb |
Leah06 (12.232.5.189) -- Friday, April 4 2003, 04:05 am I think this one is about this girl that you are in love with. And other men love her too because she is really pritty but you love her because of her inner beaty. And you are telling your own words that if they hurt her than you will have a broken heart and they will become lies. Am i right? Nice poem Martin! |
