Meet A Friend Of Mine
6 February, 2003

I’d like for you to meet a friend of mine
she’s clever and she’s kind
She is a poet, her words, clear and true
never does she use them
just to mess, with your mind.

Tell her you are lonely
She may reply, your just horny
Tell her that you need love
She tell you, she’s looking to.

Tell that your child is raising hell
She’ll say, so, what’s new?
Hell, I got one to
and love my baby, just like you.

Tell her all your woes and sorrows
and likely she’ll reply
Hey Girl, live for today
ain’t nobody promised you
no tomorrow.

I am glad that Lasohnda's words are clear and true, and that she doesn't use them to mess with your mind like a married man who comes onto a single woman on the internet while acting like he's a single man who has no ties. I know you'd never do this to someone, especially Lasohnda, someone you call your friend. If you hand someone fiction, of course the truth will mess with "your mind" when the woman finds out the truth and has to change hers. Good poem Martin. We all can learn here.
