Message In A Bottle
11 January, 2003
Author: ShyHeart
Dedicated to Becky, A.K.A. "Dreamer", and inspired by her poem, "The Call".
Like a message in a bottle, cast into the sea
I’m looking for a harbor, a place that’s safe for us
Sometimes I think we found it, as we wash upon a shore
But, then the current changes, back out to sea once more
There are times when waves are high, thunder roars, lightning fills the sky
I can’t believe, that no one, not a single sole, can even hears my cries
If, I could but, set my course, I think I’d crash into a reef
and save myself from all this grief
I think the worst will find my soul, what ever will become of us?
then the rage, of my sea, calms itself
and suddenly, the sun, I see, from my bottle in the sea
Another harbor, I’m sure I see, another chance, will we be free?
we try our best to reach it's shore, but once again
ripped by tides, sometimes I think our hands are tied
As time goes by, I start to think, perhaps it's best, don’t fight the tide
there is a current for every soul, that takes us all, where we must go
what makes us think, we can fight the flow
Our message in a bottle, will go where it must go
With spirit as our compass, our souls as the anchor
We’ll win this high seas battle
and know, we will be saved
like a message in a bottle.
When life comes at us, with white capped waves,
powered by an angry sea,
and with all their rage, crash down on us,
I’ll make my stand and thank my lord,
for protecting all of us,
like a message in a bottle
