Depth Of A Fall Night

We exchanged words, then body heat. And I felt the silence seep into my bones like the voiceless response to the news of a tragedy.

We entwined our fingers, then our hearts. And I felt the silence like twilight's hush. In the shades of silver and blue before the sky explodes and burns then scatters her ashes, pieces of glowing embers, across your coal black eyes, blinded by the blast.

I kept my eyes closed
I was protected from lady sky's burn.

You lost your hope on the highway about fifty miles back. I found myself in a moment of silence with you.

Unbelievable

Megan, this is beyond words. The way you compared the body rush to the response after a tragedy, and the comparison of the silence to a twilights hush.......I have never heard such heartfelt and genuine descriptions of those tender moments. Until now, I doubted that they could be captured with words. But you seem to have accomplished the impossible with this outstanding piece of poetry.
Wow!

Wow.....

Wohh! What a poem! I can't believe how profound and deep this particular poem is Megan. I really like a lot of lines here, especially "...the sky explodes and burns then scatters her ashes, pieces of glowing embers, across your coal black eyes, blinded by the past" Can you say SHEER GENIUS! I love this poem Meg! Truly I do, it reminds me so much about a poem I wrote entitled "Propitious Night". I bet if you were to read it you'd see what I mean. This poem ultimately rocked Megan. I wonder how much I'd love any of you love poems? hmmm...Well, nice one Megan! Keep writing and I'll keep reading!
