A Familiar Story
10 August, 2003
Author: Missy
it is dark
i am all alone
the knife lay beside me
it is my time to return home
i gently slide the side of the knife
accross my tiny wrist
one quick slit
and my life is to end
i have tried before
but always got scared
this time was it
it has to end
they say the understand
they say it will get better
they want it to make me feel better
but it never will
i look over at the crib
that sits beside the window
i want to say goodbye
but i don't want to wake him
he will be better with some other mother
i am not fit for him
i am only fifteen
there is nothing i can do about it
he deserves better than me
i can never be there for him
he will be better off
and so will everyone else
tears come to my eyes as the knife sinks in
deeper and deeper untill my end
i lay on my bed looking up at the celing
as the dark red blood stains my skin
then it's all over
the world is happy once again
i did the biggest favor
anyone could give
