The Sunset

Calm waves ripple
in rhythm
bringing along
voices from the sea.
Constant ebb and flow
like the thoughts of you
calling to my heart.
A distant bird
travelling all alone
towards its destination..
The flaming sun,
a hot ball of fire
descending low
in the arms of
the deep blue sea
as if it awaits its
beloved with hunger
leaving a warm orange glow
over the clear horizon.
Like the magic
of your thoughts
felt when engulfed
into your arms
my face glows..
The beauty of
the sunset
sinks deep into
my soul
where thoughts
of you reside
bringing the day
to an end
and making the
night complete.
