Guilty Feelings
11 January, 2004
Author: Moonstarshine
I have watched him
closely to see
the happiness he feels
and the pain he suffers.
If I leave...it hurts him
If I stay...nothing gets better,
but for a smile upon
his tearful face..
and a deep longing
in the abyss of his soul.
How does he keep pace
with the highs and lows,
of what the day would bring
Would the heart cry today?
or would it joyfully sing?
The unknowingness of it all
keeps his life at stall
My heart knows and cries,
each day he lives,
each night he dies.
Tell me my heart
if I keep killing
him this way
what right do I have
to still linger
in his life
and stay?
