Him

Somewhere
A wondrous man
Has just awoken from the
Deep slumbers of his sleep
Descends from his bed
Into the cool,
Calming haziness
Of early evening.
I think of him,
His strong calloused hands,
Running through his hair,
His lips,
Like two rose petals,
Pressing against each other,
The soft gentleness.
There is only one question:
How could he love me.
I think of him,
Strong
Like a smooth stone wall.
To withstand the troubles
of the world from me.
Whatever else
My life is
With its complications
And its sorrows
And its burdens
It is also this magical fairytale
Showering down on me from the heavens,
Blessing and loving;
All day I think of him-
His beauty,
His masculinity,
And his everlasting love for me.
