Quest For Calm
8 February, 2003
Author: Mukhthar
Heart-wrenching is the widow's stare,
Children orphaned by an inhuman war,
Of the human toll they do not care;
Was this the dawn ,the dawn the mahatma saw?
Children of the same Mother,
Quarelling over the one ragdoll,
This insanity must not prolong further;
They must pay heed to the people's call.
Out of the endless streaming crimson,
Shall emerge a land pristine,
Restoring a joy long forgotten;
Calm shall again reign supreme.
This valley once was Eden,
And again shall be;
The cry for peace has risen!
For a land-safe,secure and free
