How Could You
13 April, 2003
Author: Natalia
How could you do this to me?
A friend you said you'd always be,
But you took my heart
And you ripped it apart.
How could you do this to me?
The pain you caused- don't you see?
You said you would always be there,
But now its as if you don't even care
How could you do this to me?
You said there'd always be a "we".
But now you can't even look into my eyes,
Without telling more lies.
You said you would never leave my side.
But you did, so now in whom can I confide?
You said we were always meant to be.
To my heart, you've always held the key.
How could you not realize what you've done?
You say you love me, but then you run.
I trusted you with everything I had.
And now you only make me feel so bad.
I know I can never get over you,
And there is nothing that I can do
I guess only time can heal
The pain and loss that I feel.
You promised we'd be together until the end.
You were my very best friend.
I still and will always love you,
But I still don't understand how you could do this to me.
------- Author's Notes -------
I know this has nothing to do with the poem, but: if you love somebody, tell them. Dont put it off. You dont want to be one of those people that look back to the past wondering what would have happened if you told that somebody how you felt about them. Dont wait, you never know what will happen tomorrow. |
