The Fence

Remember when we were children
We used a fence for a horse?
We knew we could fall off either side
But we didn't care, of course

As years go by and we get older
That fence is always there
The meaning is a little different
But we still use it without a care

We need to realize before it's to late
We're not walking that fence alone
On one side we have Satan
On the other we have the Lord

The Devil tugs hard on one arm
The Lord just holds out His hands
Do we want a life filled with love and peace
Or an empty life that Satan commands?

The Lord doesn't like us walking that fence
It's everything or nothing at all
So what do you say, let's come down
And heed our Savior's call?

It doesn't matter how we've sinned
God loved us all so much
That He gave His only begotten Son
To die on that cross for us!

Satan can't promise us anything
Except an empty life of Hell
I know, I've been there, and so have you
So let's listen to what Christ has to tell

When we've filled our hearts with His love and joy
That fence we will not walk again
Unless it's to tell Satan, face to face
We're walking with Christ now, Hand in hand!!
