I Will Be Me Again By Morning
29 December, 2003
Author: Pamela O'Brien
If my body
Were by daylight
As it appears by the candlelight during my evening bath
Perhaps, I would be somebody else
The glistening elegance of my skin
My imperfections shy in the shadows of the flickering flames
Curves undefined and mysterious
Beneath the trembling surface of the water
And I relish in the impermanent glory
Knowing that by morning
I will be me again.

Silkened Moon (204.31.225.15) -- Wednesday, December 31 2003, 05:20 pm Oh, man! I've really never heard anything as elegant as this! Not that its a bad thing, just that its such a well written poem! I love this one because of the profound sort of essence to it! The fact that it will be me again the next morning. Thats the basic concept, right? Wow, where did you get your inspiration? |

Pamela (66.225.130.57) -- Wednesday, December 31 2003, 08:47 pm I am thrilled that you guys responded to this poem with such enthusiasm and awe. I wrote this, literally, as I was sitting in the bath the other night and I noticed how beautiful I looked by candlelight - and furthermore, how I wish I felt that way about myself all of the time. It's sad, but also like a moment of peace within myself and the chance to even feel that beautiful for an hour or so while I soaked in the bubbles. Thanks so much for commenting, this poem is me exposed (literally!) and I appreciate the fact that you appreciated it :o) |
