Even Now I Can't Forget
23 December, 2003
Author: Pamela O'Brien
I glance in the rear view mirror
And I see you there
Even though I've been pretending
That I don't care
And that I'm driving to the middle of nowhere.....
I look over my shoulder
And you are close behind
Catching up to me quickly
Even though I've tried
So very hard, to maintain my pride.......
I hear your name
In a casual conversation
And my thoughts scatter
At the realization
That I can taste my heart's anticipation........
I sense your voice
Whispering in the distance
Can't figure out
Exactly what this is
When did I develop such resistance?
