Mental Note To Self
1 January, 1970
Author: Pamela O'Brien
Somewhere a mouth opens with the intent to scream
And a child wakes to find himself sweating from a bad dream
Somewhere five fingers are forming a fist
And a girl looks in the mirror dwelling on how she's never been kissed
Somewhere someone's eyes have become red with fury
And their body shakes, and their thoughts are blurry
Somewhere we are consumed by rage
And we stare through the bars of this cold steel cage.

Pamela (66.38.146.109) -- Sunday, January 19 2003, 07:51 pm I know, its a weird poem. I entitled it "Mental Note To Self" Because literally, these are things I was thining about and knew I may never think about again. So I wanted to write them down. I think its just a focus on all the rage and anger in the world. And how EVERYBODY, even the kindest of us, has rage built up somewhere inside. Glad you liked it though, despite its oddness. |
