Deception Vs Perfection
10 November, 2002
Author: Pamela O'Brien

vinebar

There's too much pre-occupation with self-satisfaction
And the world we inhabit is a fading attraction
Everyone sees themself as the one exception
But they have fallen victim to a life of deception

There's too much persistence to try and get a reaction
And the world we inhabit is a raging distraction
Everyone sees themself with clouded perception
But they have fallen victim to a dream of perfection

Thanx

Thank you Muchly, I like this one as well. I think its negative, but in a way that it makes the reader want to be a better person. And it causes you to look at your life a little closer then you might like :O)

Makes Sense In A Strange Way

Thanks Giovy, this poem does make sense but in a very ironic, non-sensical kinda way!
Glad to see people still comment on older poems sometimes.....made my day :o)
