Satisfaction Of Sadness
3 July, 2002
Author: Pamela O'Brien
I want you to see,
That I'm doing fine,
The satisfaction of knowing,
That I'm not yours,
And you're not mine.
Because I need to be,
Reassured of myself,
The satisfaction of seeing,
That I'm still me,
And I'm in good health.
So I'll be on my way,
Driving a little further every day,
On the road that brought us together,
But roads can't go forever.....
If you only knew,
How little I miss you,
The satisfaction of feeling,
The exact same thing,
That you put me through.
I want you to be,
Out of my life completely,
The satisfaction of knowing,
That I can't hurt you,
And you can't hurt me.
So just be on your way,
Drive a little further every day,
On the road that brought us together,
Please stay away forever.....

anonymous (64.39.138.68) -- Friday, September 6 2002, 07:28 am This poem has brought tears to my eyes. I just told the man I love that I'm happy with out him(even though i truly am not) The satisfaction of teling him that though and making him see that he doesn't have power over me and that I will not cry for him any more is an amazing feeling. This poem is beautiful. |
Pamela (66.38.146.48) -- Saturday, September 7 2002, 08:14 am I am sorry but also glad to hear that your sadness satisfies you. This poem is meant to reflect the desperation and accomplishment that is felt when you finally let go of that person - I hope it comes to you too :0) |
