Afraid Of Love
21 July, 2002
Author: Pamela O'Brien
I am disgusted at your lack of emotion,
After a year of sharing our minds, bodies, souls etc.....
I am disappointed in your rejection,
After a year of knowing that I accepted you for what you are.
I am disgraced that I believed you could be the special one.
You are afraid of love.
You are afraid of pain.
They do go hand in hand in some cases,
But sometimes not.
And sometimes, the hurt is worth the time together.
I wouldn't trade it for the world.
Yet I am discouraged by your unwillingness to take me in your arms
and embrace life at its best.
So many people will love you.
And they will hurt you because you are afraid of them.
Too bad, I could have given you everything and so much more.
I always saw you as someone who would never hurt me Michael,
When I wanted to be alone, I came to see you.
And now, just when I had re-discovered my trust in the general good,
It is gone as if it never came.
I'm afraid of love.
I'm afraid of pain.
Too bad, cuz I have everything to give and so much more.
