Broken
18 July, 2002
Author: Pamela O'Brien
He worries about my heart,
And how it might react,
If ever he walked out the door,
And decided to never come back.
He sees it as fine china,
So fragile and delicate,
If it were smashed to pieces,
Could it be fixed, bit by bit?
I told him not to worry,
If any harsh words were spoken,
Because everyone knows you cannot break,
Something thats already broken.

Pamela (199.216.176.5) -- Saturday, July 20 2002, 11:39 pm Isn't it neat how one person can think a poem is awesome and another can think its not? I always thought this was one of my less effective poems, but hearing that you liked it so much really puts a smile on my face. |
Seizure (67.34.133.73) -- Saturday, July 20 2002, 11:54 pm What I look for in a poem is something I can connect with, you did that flawlessly. Then what really makes me remember a poem is when the ending is powerful. This is the most powerful ending you have ever written (in my opinion). I think it's really good. |

Pamela (66.38.146.217) -- Sunday, August 25 2002, 03:48 pm Thanks for commenting - its nice to know that even the olderpoems still get read. This poem is not so much about inside vs. outside so much as the inability to mend a broken heart - and those who recognize it. |
