The World I Know
27 May, 2002
Author: Pamela O'Brien
It puts shame in my heart,
And tears in my eyes,
It's gift-wrapped in deceit,
And decorated with lies.
It has stolen our spirits,
Pushed our morals aside,
It's all about image,
And how much we can hide.
It's dissected our souls,
And invaded our hearts,
It's all about chance,
Like a game of cards.
It is not the injustices,
That cause us to betray,
What this is really about,
Is the world today..
