The Battle Within
24 May, 2002
Author: Pamela O'Brien
Sometimes your skin feels like water warmed by the summer sun,
Other times it feels as cold as the metal of the gun.
Sometimes your kiss feels like a rollercoaster ride,
Other times it feels like a part of your soul died.
Sometimes my heart is overflowing with content,
Other times all it can do is resent.
This is what I call "The Battle Within,"
The battle that I seemingly cannot win.
