To Look Away
23 December, 2001

The fire that burned so faithfully,
Keeping us warm and guiding us through the darkness,
Reminded me somewhat of my feelings for you.

The stars that shone so flawlessly,
Conquering our thoughts and leaving us mesmerized,
Reminded me somewhat of your eyes so blue.

The music that played so harmonic,
Calming our souls and creating vivid memories,
Dwells within me every day.

The way your hand eased into mine,
Holding my heart in your palm and not even knowing,
Made it impossible to look away.
