Shadow Self
21 October, 2003
Author: Pondering Red
shadow self plays
and flirts with her lightness-
tugs and tears at her sun-
trys to rip apart her strength-
debates her beliefs-
arouses her guilt-
makes her tired,
just plain tired.
under the blanket,
under the moon sliver-
its glow casts
an aura around her heart,
starts to drift
like soft snowflakes
around layers of troubles.
there is good silence.
it falls,
crackles like
a thousand silver points of radiance,
takes her breath away.
now,
she sits in a panorama
of white Himalaya like mountain tops.
no footsteps lead to her.
there are
no shadows,
no self,
no earthly breath here.
the shadow self flows
through
and meets in
a place where nothing matters.
where there are no questions,
therefore no answers
and everything sings.
jolted by the gurgling sounds
of a distant plane,
she awakens into this time,
flushed,
shaken with quiet peace and
lying under the shadowless moon glow,
she can finally breathe.
