A Wisp Of Contentment
31 July, 2003
Author: Pondering Red
now-
the slightest breeze,
maybe the wind
from a sparrow
flying by,
moves the branches-
ever so soft-
as your touch.
the branches twitter.
they move much like
the sparkle of a
thousand diamonds.
morning sun
adds some gold-
paints the leaves
a vibrant green.
they dazzle-
as
you do.
the air is still.
you can hear a hum-
of contentment perhaps
from the tall tree-
from me -maybe.
a cicada buzzes
and my smile stretches
into the skies.

Pamela (194.125.158.157) -- Monday, August 4 2003, 06:37 pm Pondering Red, I would just like to say that as usual, your poem blew me away. I can read your poems as though they are my own words flowing from my heart rather than my mouth or fingertips. The extreme and vivid descriptions you depict in your writing is enough to make a person stop dead in their tracks and completely re-think their lives, other peoples lives, and civilization as a whole. Or, by the same token, stop and just appreciate a simple moment of contemplation. I hope you realize the effect your sentences bring to me and the inspiration that they provide for me to continue writing. When I read this poem in particular, it is me that has a "smile stretching into the sky." |
Enchantress (206.214.66.2) -- Monday, August 4 2003, 11:32 pm Pondering Red, this poem was indeed like no other. It was like all the poem I've read by professionals. Indeed, you are one! This is something alright, I bet you might even win a contest with this type of poetry. Keep writing, I'll keep reading! |
