Reflections Of Dragon And Snake
1 October, 2002
Author: Pondering Red
click goes the keyboard as we begin
another feeble attempt to iterate
that which is deeper in our hearts
a lonely walk
where does it always end up?
death since january
this dread and doom
is come
to haunt me
it crept up on me
as slow as melting icicles
and seized my spirit
you jumped into my life
swung on a vine
crashed through my window
as the breaking glass
echoed vibrant musical chords
resonant
you poured gallons of love
into me over me around me
yet you triggered my deepest fear
dear
i hear you talk
your words lighten my heart
yet the wall remains
that separates and
may always seperate
that perfect union
that all so passionately seek
to the demise of their selves
your words shock me
you with all your reassurance
and comfort
to see what you write
about that wall
is very disconcerting
it's all so very different
than what you speak
easy for you to walk around
breath the moment
plan for the future
full of hope
and days filled with childrens growing
the tragic condition which is our lives
every human life
is that we all ultimately travel it alone
and alone we must face our private and ultimate pains
but that is only the one side
that which aches in my heart as well
to see you my dearest friend
lover and partner
suffering the age old
... yes it is tragic yet
there are also the age old remedies
that support no superficial standards
yet elicit of us
the very best and highest in our potential
and to this we are called
when we face the grim facts that our human condition
inevitably brings to all
so
we cannot go on with our old habits
based upon childrens dreams and commercial pulp entertainment
but we must bring this painful knowledge with us
into our lives and work
to do what we can
to show our love
the love which we ourselves have been shown
without which at times every one of us
would have fallen stricken with hopelessness
into despair
yet we have hope
and we have kowledge
we have our loves
those things we value
those appropriate attachments
sometimes to small trivial things that comfort us
sometimes to the larger and most sacred of things
freedom and rights
equality
justice
beauty
truth
love
passion
and so we can again rebuild in ourselves
with a new strength
our lives so fragile
in the face of doom
