Red Sands Of Time

How did I get to the other side of the mirror.
to realize the truths that were already there,
nestled away and almost asleep ?
How did I catch up to this realization of reality ?
Will I ever be there again, on the level red sands,
baked by the moons glow,
accentuated by the lighthouse beam,
that threw a silver silhouette of added light on your body profile ?
Will I ever experience the aftermath of the waves
and hear the almost silent swoosh of the centuries old rush
of water tide sweeping the beach,
seizing my mind with delight, with an almost euphoria ?
Darkened water colors painting a memory,
while I am sweating, working hard,
trying to capture this moment -
struggling with the concept of forever-
saddened by every wave that escapes my memory-
happy to have been with you-
strolling alone with the winds and the almost black sky-
A twinkling of lights in the distance-
Alone with a million stars-

Is this forever
Soon to be forgotten ?
I strain to keep this image
to feel the intensity
to breath in and savour all.
Only you and I share this.
Will you remember ?
Will I ever go there with you again ?
In memory ? or in thought ?
I feel so sad
When I think...
Maybe not...
