Ten Happy Tears
25 August, 2000
Author: Pondering Red
So...almost ten months
since you
entered and whirled
into my life,
dropped into my world
of panic and fun,
defeat and sun.
You came in like a gentle storm
after the rains
which leave the lakes warm.
You came
with grey, white roses,
the only ones without a thorn.
As you silently talked to me,
I could see
deep canyons and desert land
as well as forever mountains
etched in your gaze
and imprinted on your hand.
I felt unsteady,
yet could fly,
full of fear, trembling, shy...
yet
I was confident to know
that you were there,
in front of the sunset,
behind the curtain of rain.
You almost held my hand
when I was in an indescribably blue land.
You dried the ten tears that came
and drenched through my soul
on fire for you.
And so, ten candles burn
as I dance and twirl and rest and yearn
